Type Locality and Naming

It was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Xinjiang Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1961 and published by Wang Baoyu in 1985. The type section is located in the upper reaches of Kargo River, northeast of Keyi in Baicheng County, the Xinjiang Uygur Zizhiqu. The reference section is at Yilarlek in the upper reaches of Altenkos River.

Lithology and Thickness

The Yicekebash Gr, 4729 m in thickness, consists of grayish white, white medium- to thick-bedded calcite marble intercalated with biotite hornblende granulite and minor two-mica felsic amphibole-gneiss.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It conformably rests on the Yilalife Fm (Yinanlike Fm).

Upper contact

It conformably contacts with the overlying Keketiekedaban Fm

Regional extent

It is widely distributed at Halik Mt. and in Baicheng area. The carbonate rock and the clastic rock of the group are in facies-change relation along the strike.

Fossils

It yields anthozoa Kyphophyllum sp., Entelophyllum sp., Mesofavosites sp., Squameofavosites cf. kenkolicus; brachiopod Conchidium sp.; stromatopor Amphipora sp., etc.

Depositional setting
